How this calculator works
This tool counts every day between your start date and end date, then removes Saturdays and Sundays. When bank holiday exclusion is turned on, it also removes the official bank holidays for your chosen UK region.
England & Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland do not always share the same holiday calendar, so region matters. For example, Scotland has its own holiday pattern, while Northern Ireland includes St Patrick’s Day and the Battle of the Boyne. What counts as a working day?
In this calculator, a working day is any weekday that is not excluded as an official bank holiday for the region you selected.
Are the holiday dates official?
